“Bless
You”
We say bless you when
someone sneezes because people have accustomed to say bless you.
Its origin is from
Europe “bless you” is basically predicting sickness; therefore you are blessing
the person whom might get sick.
This saying came originally from Greek.
Attributed to Pope Gregory the
Great, but it might also started way before the Pope made it popular.
For example The Romans
would say "Jupiter preserves you" or "Salve," which meant
"good health to you," and the Greeks would wish each other "long
life.
